Island light was the first painting created during my winter break of 2025 on Lindisfarne in Northumberland. It is not a scene I saw, but rather one I felt. Perhaps a composite of all of the fabulous sunrises and sunsets I have seen there of the years I have been visiting. Since my return from I have been exploring further paintings of this type, singling out a specific day and a less complex colour palette.
