Big scary London

Big scary London

This is a painting that has stepped out of my memoir. When I arrived in London I was sixteen, everything felt huge and it wasn’t long before that became huge and scary, as a homeless child who had been disowned by their family. There was no sofa surfing and I didn’t know anything about any services. My homeless experience was living rough, sleeping in cemeteries and parks. I know what I recall as the adult I am now but what I wanted to do was paint London as I saw it as that child, abandoned and alone. This is big scary London with the help of my inner child.
