This is a mixed media work which I can best describe as a meditation on a sunny Cornish rockpool. I found the rockpools of Cornwall altogether more colourful than those of the North Sea coast. The addition of uncommonly good weather with plenty of sunlight in February 2024 made the pools positively fluorescent. What I wanted to capture in this painting was the moment a pebble was thrown into the pool and the sunlight catching moving circular ripples as a wish was made.
