Open call for creative works celebrating our favourite seasons

The first community art exhibition I organised last year featured participants’ creative reflections of lockdown. The show was something of an emotional rollercoaster, featuring and inviting viewers to both feel and reflect on the impact of the pandemic on the community.

This year I wanted to create something where we can celebrate together, but with our own twist. I was inspired to choose ‘Seasons’ as I always look forward to spring. My new studio overlooks wooded parkland, so I’ve had a constant, delightful reminder of nature waking up for another year.

For many people, the seasons are simply spring, summer, autumn and winter but for the purposes of this exhibition let’s throw the net wider and consider other seasons. Perhaps your favourite is the football or cricket season? You might prefer the Christmas or the Proms season? Only you have the answer.

Whatever it is, can you share it creatively with the community? Can you paint, draw, collage, photograph, knit, felt, crochet, stitch, sculpt etc. your favourite season? You don’t have to be the next Monet or Banksy. This is an opportunity for you to embrace your creativity and share your favourite season with others. Many of last year’s exhibitors had never made anything or entered an exhibition but all of them thoroughly enjoyed participating in the show.

The guidelines for entry are as follows:
