Northern Skies Series

This series was painted in the summer of 2022 following and evening drive up the Northumberland coast and a very late night on Holy Island. I didn’t sketch or photograph anything, I just wait for the parts that captivated me the most to reappear in my studio.

Low tide Lindisfarne

I love the large expanses of sand at Lindisfarne, watching them appear and disappear with the tide. Markings in the sand created by currents and relics of ancient times side by side with sea glass and pottery shards. Time and tide reveals so much if you know how to look.
